ROCKY MOUNT, NC – Christopher Newport's men's soccer squad dropped a tough 2-1 decision at NC Wesleyan in the championship of the USA South Tournament Saturday afternoon.
The Bishops struck first in the 15
th minute and scored the game-winner in the 78
th minute.
Jimmy Hash cut the lead in half in the 83
rd minute on a shot from 20-yards out.
CNU out-shot NC Wesleyan, 15-13.
Matt Tengs had three saves in goal.
The Bishops improve to 15-3-1 on the year and receive the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. The Captains, 14-4-3, will await to see if they are a recipient of an at-large bid.
