Volleyball Sweeps Greensboro, Advances To USA South Title Match, Birch Reaches 200 Wins

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's volleyball squad, ranked No. 21 in the nation and the top seed in the USA South Tournament, swept No. 4 Greensboro in a USA South semifinal Friday night.
 
Win the win, CNU Head Coach Lindsay Birch reaches the 200-win plateau, the first ever coach in program history to reach 200 wins.
 
The Captains won by scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-11.
 
Ellen Koch led CNU with eight kills and four digs. Liz Bush finished with seven kills. Jessie Heavenrich added 13 assists and six digs.
 
Kacie Hyatt had six kills for the Pride to go along with six digs. Karen Riffanacht also had six kills. Kelsey Hargrove added 13 assists.
 
Greensboro finishes the year 17-21. Christopher Newport is 32-6 on the year and will meet Averett in the championship at 5 pm Saturday.
