WINCHESTER, VA – Christopher Newport's men's soccer team posted a convincing 4-0 victory in a conference match-up against Shenandoah on Wednesday night.
CNU senior Andrew Carver would get the Captains on the board in the 24th minute on an assist from Clif Kipper.
Even though that's all the scoring that CNU would need, they continued to pour on the offensive attack.
In the 38th minute, Winston Matthieson would add a goal on an assist from John Corser, putting CNU up 2-0.
Carver would proceed to post a hat-trick for the evening, scoring two more goals on assists from Steven Farmer, and Kipper respectively.
The Captains out-shot the Hornets, 17-3, and CNU keeper Matt Tengs made a save on Shenandoah's only shot-on-goal.
Christopher Newport improves to 10-3-1 on the season, and they remain perfect in conference play with a record of 3-0.
CNU will travel to Fayetteville, North Carolina on Saturday to take on the Monarchs of Methodist at 3:30pm.
