Men's Soccer Rolls To 8-1 Victory Over Ferrum

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's men's soccer squad opened USA South play with an 8-1 win over Ferrum Friday night.

CNU out-shot the Panthers, 27-1. Matt Tengs and Justin Wolfe split time in goal, and neither was called upon to make a save.

Andrew Carver came off the bench to score three goals and assist on another. Kenny Huttman added two goals and one assist. Winston Matthiesen, Steven Farmer, and Jimmy Majewski each had one goal in the win.

Brian Tweed dished out two assists while Kyle Allan and Nathan Roberts each had one.

Ferrum falls to 2-10 on the year and 0-3 in the USA South. Christopher Newport improves to 8-3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

CNU returns to action Saturday when they host Averett at 7 pm.
