Women's Soccer Clinches Regular Season Title, Remains Undefeated In USA South

ROCKY MOUNT, NC – Christopher Newport's Women's Soccer team clinched the USA South regular season conference title Wednesday evening with a 2-0 win over the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College.
 
CNU's offensive production came on scores by Katie Jaywork and Jenn Campbell in the 30th and 33rd minutes.  Assists went to Megan Conheeney and Meghan Arbegast respectively.
 
Dineen Sampson and Erin Wojtkun would split time in goal, totaling three saves for the Captains.
 
The Captains out-shot NC Wesleyan, 24-7, on the day, and they improve their record to 11-6-1 overall, and a perfect 8-0 in the USA South.
 
With the victory, CNU wins the USA South regular season title outright, and will host the Conference Tournament next week at Captains Field in Newport News.
 
The Captains will be back out on the field this Saturday at 6:00pm as they host the Fighting Squirrels of Mary Baldwin.
