NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's women's soccer team shut out the Monarchs of Methodist University en route to a 3-0 victory on Saturday night.
CNU got on the board quickly when junior Emily Chesbro knocked one in the back of the Methodist net in the 5th minute.
The score would remain at 1-0 as the teams would head into halftime without anymore goals scored.
In the second half Vicki Fessler would set up Kendall Dishaw for the Captains' second goal in the 66th minute, extending CNU's lead to 2-0.
Despite a comfortable lead, Christopher Newport still had more to add as Brittany Revels set up Courtney McKay to score the CNU's third and final goal.
Dineen Sampson played the whole game in goal for the Captains and posted 3 saves on the evening.
Christopher Newport out-shot the Monarchs by a margin of 11-4 and they now improve their record to 10-5-1 on the season with a perfect 7-0 record in conference play.
The Captains will travel to St. Mary's City, MD to take on St. Mary's College tomorrow at 2:00 pm.
