RALEIGH, NC – Christopher Newport's volleyball team swept a pair of matches Saturday afternoon.
CNU defeated Meredith, 3-0, by scores of 25-17, 25-15, and 25-15.
The Captains were led by the senior tandem of
Ellen Koch and Allie Wolfe. Koch had 10 kills and 14 digs, while Wolfe posted 13 kills along with 9 digs.
Christopher Newport's offensive attack consisted of 52 kills, with much thanks to the work of their two setters,
CNU concluded the day by sweeping Peace by scores of 25-10, 25-11 and 25-15.
Koch finished with 12 kills on 17 attempts for a .706 hitting percentage to go along with seven digs. Wolfe finished with 10 kills and eight digs.
Lowery added 26 assists, four aces and three digs. Heavenrich had 15 assists.
The Captains are now 27-6 overall and 15-0 in USA South play. Christopher Newport returns to action Wednesday when they head to Shenandoah with start time set for 6 pm.
