NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's volleyball squad defeated Bridgewater 3-1 on Senior Night Friday at the Freeman Center.

 

The Captains defeated the Eagles by scores of 25-13, 27-29, 25-20, and 25-20.

 

Senior Liz Bush led CNU with 16 kills on 27 attempts with two errors and finished with a .519 hitting percentage. Fellow senior Sarah Brown finished with 12 kills on 25 attempts with just one error for a hitting percentage of .440. Ellen Koch, also a senior, added 10 kills and 12 digs.

 

Jessie Heavenrich led Christopher Newport 33 assists and also had 11 digs. Ryann Lowery added 18 assists and six digs. Mary Horner had a match-high 24 digs while senior Allie Wolfe finished with nine kills and 18 digs.

 

Bridgewater falls to 20-7 overall while the Captains improve to 25-6. CNU hits the road for a tri-match in Raleigh, NC. They will take on Meredith at 12 pm and Peace at 2 pm.
