NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's women's soccer team extended its winning streak to six with a 2-0 win over Salisbury Wednesday night.
The Captains Megan Richard scored the eventual game-winner in the 41st minute with Caitlin Maat assisting.
Maat drilled one to the right corner from about 25 yards out in the 75th minute after receiving the ball from Jenn Campbell and making a nice move to get around a Sea Gull defender.
CNU out-shot Salisbury, 8-7. Dineen Sampson recorded her second shutout of the year, making three saves in goal.
The Sea Gulls fall to 4-3-3 and Christopher Newport improves to 6-4-1. The Captains return to action Saturday when they host conference rival Greensboro at 1 pm.
