NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's volleyball team made quick work of Shenandoah, sweeping the Hornets in a USA South volleyball match Wednesday night at the Freeman Center.

CNU won by scores of 25-11, 25-9, and 25-13.

Ellen Koch led the Captains with nine kills on 14 attempts with three errors for a .429 hitting percentage. Allie Wolfe finished with eight kills, five aces and five digs. Becca Davis added seven kills and four digs.

Jessie Heavenrich had 14 assists and four aces while Ryann Lowery contributed 14 assists and five aces.

The Hornets fall to 4-11 on the year and 0-7 in conference play. Christopher Newport improves to 15-3 overall and 9-0 in the USA South. The Captains return to action Friday when they host Salisbury at 6 pm.
