NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's men's soccer squad dropped a 2-1 decision in overtime to No. 23 VA Wesleyan Wednesday night.
Harrison Myrdal scored the game-winner with 2:33 left in the first overtime session to give the Marlins the win.
CNU's Michael Caro put the Captains on top 1-0 taking a pass from Tyler Clare in the 58th minute.
VA Wesleyan's Adam Beck tied the score to force the extra session in the 63rd minute with Robbie Mann assisting.
Christopher Newport out-shot the Marlins, 9-6. Matt Tengs had two saves in goal for the Captains.
The Marlins improve to 10-0 while CNU falls to 4-4.
The Captains return to action this Saturday when they travel to Averett with start time set for 12 pm.
