BALTIMORE, MD - Christopher Newport's women's soccer team defeated No. 16 Johns Hopkins 4-1 on day two of the Johns Hopkins Tournament Sunday afternoon.
Jenn Campbell scored her third goal in two games in the 14th minute dribbling in the box and finding the back of the net. Becca Grady put the Captains on top 2-0 in the 33rd minute with Brittany Revels assisting.
In the second half, Amanda Peters scored both of the Captains second half goals with the first coming off a cross from Megan Conheeney in the 65th minute. Peters dribbled around a defender and scored just a minute and seven seconds later to put Christopher Newport up 4-0.
The Blue Jays scored their only goal in the 73rd minute off a cross.
JHU out-shot CNU, 15-5. Erin Wojtkun had seven saves in net for Christopher Newport.
The Captains, 2-0 on the year, return to action next Sunday when they take on Division II Chowan in Richmond, VA at 7 pm.
