FAYETTEVILLE, NC – CNU women's soccer play Sam Ciaravino scored the game's only goal in the 96th minute to give the Captains a 1-0 overtime win over Greensboro in the USA South semifinals Friday afternoon.
Ciaravino took a pass from Brittany Revels and got in behind the defense and took a shot that hit the left post and went in.
Christopher Newport out-shot the Pride, 15-5. Dineen Sampson made three stops in goal, including one as time expired in regulation.
The Captains return to action Saturday as they take on the Methodist/Meredith winner in the USA South Championship with kick-off set for 1 pm.
