Men's Soccer Falls 2-1 To NC Wesleyan

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's men's soccer team dropped its regular season finale, 2-1, to #2 NC Wesleyan Saturday night on Senior Night.

The game decided who was going to be the regular season conference champion and who will host the USA South's Final Four next weekend.

The Bishops got on the scoreboard first in the 24th minute when Alimamy Kargbo scored his 10th of the year on a deflection. B.J. Godwin scored the eventual game-winner in the 30th minute off a feed from Kargbo to give NC Wesleyan a 2-0 lead.

The Captains would not go quietly as they pressured the Bishops and created numerous scoring opportunities. Christopher Newport's goal came when Michael Caro was taken down in the penalty box in the 78th minute and CNU was awarded a penalty kick. Caro connected for his 20th goal of the year.

Caro's 20 goals are the second most goals scored in a season in program history.
