NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's women's soccer team shutout the Seahawks of St. Mary's 2-0 Sunday evening.
Brittany Revels goal in the 18th minute off a pass from Stefani Brown proved to be the only goal the Captains would need.
The CNU defense shutdown St. Mary's and held the Seahawks to just six shots.
Becca Grady added an insurance goal in the 75th minute unassisted.
Christopher Newport finished with six shots. Dineen Sampson made four saves in goal as she picked up her fourth shutout of the year.
The Captains are now 10-6 overall and return to action Wednesday when they host NC Wesleyan at 4 pm.
