NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -
For the second time in a ten-day span, the Captains of Christopher Newport University will take on the Eagles of the University of Mary Washington. Saturday's game will be played at the Anderson Center on the UMW campus in Fredericksburg, and tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. The Captains are ranked eighth in the country and are 19-3, while the Eagles are slotted 11th and sport a mark of 18-3.

When the schools met on February 4th at the Freeman Center on the CNU campus, the Captains posted an 86-77 victory thanks in large part to a 43-point scoring outburst from junior Toa Hollenbeck. Not only did Hollenbeck set a new Freeman Center scoring mark, he also helped his squad snap a nine-game Eagles winning streak.

John Krikorian's squad upped its winning streak to 11 straight games on Wednesday night when the Captains dominated the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University, 77-49, at the Maggs Center in Salisbury, Md. CNU was led by junior Toa Hollenbeck and senior Collin Hines, who each scored 14 points. Junior Tyson Henderson also reached double digits with 12, and juniors Isaiah Dozier and Zyir Baskerville each added nine points as the Captains posted the wire-to-wire victory.

CNU has now won 18 of its last 19 games since a 1-2 start to the season. Mary Washington, meanwhile, has dropped two in a row heading into Saturday's action. Following the loss to the Captains, the Eagles fell at second-ranked Randolph-Macon College last Saturday, 85-74.

This will be the 52nd meeting of the Captains and Eagles, and Christopher Newport holds a 43-8 lead in the all-time series. The Captains have won 15 of the last 16 games in the series, and 24 of the last 25. The series with the Eagles began in November of 1977.

Christopher Newport games are broadcast live on the Home of the Captains, Xtra 99.1 FM and CNUsports.com. The pre-game show will begin at approximately 5:40 p.m. Saturday. A link is provided at the top of this story to access the live CNU radio broadcast. The video of the action will be streamed live by Mary Washington and links to watch the game as well as to follow the live stats are also provided at the top of this story, as well as the link to the complete CNU game notes package.

Following Saturday's game, the Captains have just one regular-season game remaining. CNU will close out the season next Saturday, February 21st, at the Freeman Center vs. Salisbury in a 7:00 p.m. start. It will be Senior Night at the Freeman Center.
