Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Closing out the 2025 CNU Invitational at home with a mock dual against Shenandoah University, the Christopher Newport men's tennis team capped an excellent weekend overall with three singles wins and a doubles sweep on Sunday. 

Gabe Smith and Matthew Onoff each secured wins in both singles and doubles while Ivan Ceric also added a singles win for CNU. 

First, in doubles action, sophomore Rainer Christiansen paired with rookie Jamison Wallace for a 6-4 win against Lucas Beasley and Dominick Suwak from Shenandoah. Smith played with Alex Seretis for a 6-2 win against Artem Babaiev and Neal Love, and Onoff shared a court with fellow rookie John Lee for a 6-3 win against Max Arkans and Siddarrth Rajagopalan. 

In singles, Smith downed Babaiev (6-3, 6-4), Ceric took down Beasley (6-1, 6-2), and Onoff disposed of Neal Love (6-2, 6-1) to wrap up the winning matches for Christopher Newport. 

The Captain will next appear at the 2025 ITA Southeast Regional Championships from October 3-5.
