NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Despite moving the action indoors due to a consistent rainstorm throughout the day on Saturday, four teams were able to compete at the CNU Invitational at the James River Country Club Indoor Courts. The host Christopher Newport Captains welcomed players from Shenandoah University, Virginia Wesleyan University, and Averett University for the tournament format.
CNU captured four doubles wins and five singles victories on day two of the invitational.

Jamison Wallace each won in both disciplines to lead the way for CNU.
Rookie
John Lee captured a marathon third-set tiebreaker to capture his win against Max Arkans by a final score of 5-7, 6-1, 14-12. Fellow freshman
Nathan Russell surrendered just four games combined in his two matches on Saturday. He won in doubles with partner
Sam Halvorsen, 6-1, against Arkans and Siddarrth Rajagopalan. He also dropped just three games in a straight-set singles win against Lucas Beasley, 6-0, 6-3.
Alex Seretis played with freshman
Jamison Wallace for a convincing 6-1 win in doubles against a Virginia Wesleyan pairing of Olaf Van der Stam and Josh Buckland. Seretis then defeated Neal Love from Shenandoah, 7-5, 6-1, and Wallace downed Buckland by a score of 7-5, 6-3.
CNU will return to the courts on Sunday at 10:00 am, returning to the Eyre Courts outdoors, weather permitting.
