SALISBURY, Md. -- Returning to the field for the first time in nearly two weeks, the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's soccer team will travel to Salisbury University (5-10-4) for the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon as the Captains (12-1-2) kick off against the Sea Gulls at 12:30 p.m.
The Captains will play at the Gerry DiBartolo Sea Gull Soccer Complex where they will also participate in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament next week. CNU last played on Tuesday, October 21 when the team traveled to Methodist University for a 3-0 win. The victory extended the current win streak to four and improved Christopher Newport to 4-0-1 on the road in 2025.Â
CNU has won four in a row against Salisbury and are unbeaten in the last 10 games (8-0-2) dating back to 2019. The last time the two teams faced off was in the 2024 C2C Tournament Semifinals when Christopher Newport advanced to the championship with a 4-0 win. In that game,

Hanna Heaton and
Kyleigh Gough added assists.Â
This season, Heaton leads the offense again with 18 points on seven goals and four assists including three game-winning goals.
Alex Devers and
Molly Seventko have each added four goals for Christopher Newport to rank second on the team in the scoring column.Â
Defensively, the Captains are among the top teams in the nation and have surrendered just five goals in 15 games this season for a 0.33 goals-against average.
Amy Sidaway has started all 15 games and has earned eight solo shutouts with 39 saves between the pipes. The back line is led by Gough and junior
Bella DiTommaso alongside rookies
Malayah Warner and
Addy Hennessy. The Captains rank ninth nationally in goals-against average and 17th in save percentage (.889).Â
Salisbury comes into the matchup coming off a 1-0 win at St. Mary's (Md.) on Tuesday evening for their sixth shutout in the last eight games. The defense has registered a 1.11 goals-against average with Riley Kinseler taking on the lion's share of the work in goal with 12 starts in 14 games played. Kinzeler has 47 saves and a .783 save percentage while posting a 1.07 goals-against average this season. Offensively, Jordan Edwards leads the way for Salisbury with four goals and one assist while Ava Wheeler has also added nine points on two goals and five assists.Â
