First Set (Captains 25-22)

Trailing 18-14, the Captains mounted a seven-point run to take the lead. Megan James delivered back-to-back aces, while Samantha Dorn added two crucial kills during the run. The Captains were accurate in the first set with 11 kills to just three errors while holding Virginia Wesleyan to a .114 hitting percentage. Alyssa Dozier closed out the set with two more kills, helping CNU capture a thrilling first set.

Second Set (Captains 25-20)

The Captains found themselves behind again early, down 9-7, but responded by winning 14 of the next 18 points. A balanced attack saw Macy Burk with four kills, Avery Hanly with three, and Dorn and Dozier each adding two. Dozier delivered the set-winning kill, giving the Captains a 2-0 lead.

Third Set (Virginia Wesleyan 25-15)

Virginia Wesleyan dominated early in the third set, jumping out to a 10-2 lead and hit their match-best .308 in the set. Despite a rally that included kills from Dozier and Burk, CNU couldn't recover, and the Marlins took the third set to force a fourth.

Fourth Set (Captains 25-22)

CNU started strong in the fourth, winning four of the first five points. Dorn led the way with six kills, giving her a team-high 11 for the match. Kills from Vitale and Dozier helped extend the Captains' lead, and the duo combined for a block to bring up match point, which was sealed by a missed Virginia Wesleyan serve.
