NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -
The home regular season schedule comes to a close on Saturday afternoon as the Captains of Christopher Newport University host the Eagles of the University of Mary Washington. Game time at the Freeman Center is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

Christopher Newport is 18-5 on the season, and ranked 22nd in the most recent national poll from D3hoops.com. The Captains are 11-2 this year on their home court, and won their last two games, beating Pfeiffer and Salisbury last week at the Freeman Center. CNU also has now won four of its last five, most recently defeating the Sea Gulls of Salisbury last Saturday at the Freeman Center, 75-63.

Mary Washington, meanwhile, has won its last six games, and the Eagles are 15-7 on the year. Wednesday night in Fredericksburg, UMW was victorious over Salisbury, 64-57, in the most recent game for Marcus Kahn's squad.

Saturday's battle will be the 46th meeting all-time of the programs. CNU holds a 38-7 advantage in the series, and John Krikorian's squad has won ten straight games. The teams met in Fredericksburg on January 17th, and the Captains prevailed, 59-57, behind a 16-point effort from sophomore Collin Hines and a double-double from fifth-year senior Ian Anderson, who scored ten points and pulled down ten rebounds.

Tickets for Saturday's game will be available at the Freeman Center Ticket Office one hour prior to tip off.

Captains men's basketball is broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning at 3:40 p.m. Saturday. Video of all the action will be streamed live on CNUsports.com and can be seen by clicking the link at the top of this story.
