NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University is off to a 3-0 start to the new season, and Saturday night the Captains play their first home game of the season. John Krikorian's squad takes on Wilson College (Pa.) at the Freeman Center, with tip off set for 7:30 p.m.

The Captains, ranked fifth in the country in the pre-season poll from D3hoops.com, are coming off a hard-fought overtime victory Wednesday night at Virginia Wesleyan University, 74-72. The Captains have also posted victories over Greensboro and North Carolina Wesleyan to start the new campaign.

The Phoenix of Wilson College are 1-2 so far, and most recently fell at home to Shenandoah University on Wednesday, 89-69. Wilson split two games last weekend in the Messiah University Tip Off Tournament, losing to Mary Baldwin and winning over Messiah. CNU traveled to Chambersburg, Pa., last season and defeated the Phoenix, 68-49. It was the first meeting ever of the programs.
