This weekend, Christopher Newport volleyball returns to the Freeman Center to host three matches against familiar opponents. The Captains will take on Salisbury, Washington & Lee, and Marymount for the second time this season.
Match Details
CNU will face Salisbury on Friday, November 1 at 6:00 PM, then Washington & Lee at noon on Saturday, followed by Marymount at 4:00 PM. All matches will be held at the Freeman Center and streamed live on CNU All-Access.
Last Time Out
Christopher Newport continued their dominant run with two more straight-set wins last Saturday, sweeping Susquehanna and Catholic. These victories extended the Captains' winning streak to four matches.
Megan James recorded a double-double against Susquehanna with 10 kills and 11 digs, while four Captains reached double-digit kills in the same match, including
Alli Pratt (11), James (10),
Alyssa Dozier (10), and
Macy Burk (10). In the Catholic match,
Alyssa Vitale tallied a double-double with 17 assists and 10 digs, and CNU posted 10 blocks, their second-highest total in a three-set match this season.

Noelle Starr enters the weekend with 1,945 career digs, needing just 55 more to become the third Captain in program history to reach 2,000 digs. Starr leads the conference and ranks 48th nationally with 438 digs this season.
Series History
The Captains hold a 27-20 all-time record against Salisbury. Their most recent meeting was on October 5, where Salisbury won 3-0 in Maryland.
Megan James led CNU in that match with 11 kills. CNU recently faced Washington & Lee on October 16, earning their 10th consecutive win over the Generals to bring the all-time record to 23-14. The Captains also defeated Marymount earlier this year on the road, securing a four-set victory to improve their all-time series lead to 18-14.
Scouting the Sea Gulls
Ranked #25 nationally, Salisbury enters with a 14-match winning streak, having recently beaten Messiah and Virginia Wesleyan. Gwen Eustace has been key to their success, ranking second on the team with 217 kills and leading with 89 blocks.
Scouting the Generals
Washington & Lee is ranked 15th and has won five straight matches since their October 16 loss to Christopher Newport, marking just their second defeat this season. Grace Mitchener leads the offense with 321 kills and 31 aces.
Scouting the Saints
Marymount is 8-19 but has won five straight, including a sweep of Immaculata on Wednesday. Defensive standout Eliza Freeman leads the Saints with 331 digs and 52 aces.
