NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Returning to Captains Field for the first time in three weeks, the Christopher Newport men's soccer team will take on Salisbury University (5-7-3) for the second to last game of the regular season on Wednesday night. The Captains (5-5-4) will host the Sea Gulls with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.

The matchup is the second this season between the two teams as the Captains traveled to Salisbury on October 19 and played to a 1-1 draw. Christopher Newport and the Sea Gulls have played 46 times prior to Wednesday night's game with the all-time series knotted up at 20-20-6.
The Captains last played at home against Washington and Lee back on Wednesday, October 9. Prior to that setback, Christopher Newport had put together an unbeaten record at home in eight games this season (5-0-3). CNU is coming off a 2-1 setback at Lynchburg on Saturday, October 26 and will look to bounce back in Wednesday night's matchup.
Five different CNU players have registered multiple goals so far this season led by sophomore
Manzi Siibo with four goals and one assist this year.

Luke Peri, and
Zach Ruhlman have each added a pair of goals each in 2024.
Jason LaViola has added a team-high five assists while
Barry Jones has followed up an All-Region campaign with one goal and three helpers himself.
In the matchup at Salisbury, sophomore
Colin Skwirut scored the game-tying goal for Christopher Newport and helped the Captains salvage a draw. He has started six games and played in all 14 so far.
Salisbury enters the mid-week matchup coming off a 3-2 loss to No. 1 Mary Washington on Saturday. In the game, Salisbury took a 2-0 lead with goals from Peter Beil and Gavin Miller on the road. Miller leads the Sea Gulls with 11 points on five goals and one assist while Brady Young has added three goals and four assists for 10 points in 2024.
Following the matchup against Salisbury, CNU will welcome top-ranked Mary Washington for Senior Night on Saturday, November 2 at 6:00 p.m.
