Colin Skwirut also is a repeat selection in 2025 while first time picks

Josh Monzon,
Ben Sullivan, and
Joe Summerfield each garnered the prestigious recognition.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Dec. 16, 2025.
This year, Kuzemka joins
Mason Field and
Trevor Smith as the only CNU players to collect three Academic All-District selections in his career. The midfielder from Clifton, Va. was a second team All-Conference selection in 2025 as he wrapped a standout career for Christopher Newport. The 2024 All-Region defender played in 76 career games and chipped in five goals with three assists for 13 total points. Off the pitch, Kuzemka is majoring in Cellular, Molecular, and Physiological Biology.
Joining Kuzemka as a repeat selection in 2025 is junior midfielder
Colin Skwirut. The Hampton, Va. native started 20 and played in all 21 games for the Captains this year as a pivotal piece to the CNU midfield core. He scored one goal and added three assists while putting 41.7 percent of his shots on goal during his third year. While serving as team captain, Skwirut averaged over 60 minutes per game. He is majoring in Applied Mathematics.
The first-time selections include junior forwards
Drew McWhinney and
Joe Summerfield alongside a pair of second-year defensive stars in
Josh Monzon and
Ben Sullivan.
McWhinney is double majoring in Accounting and Finance while serving as a starting attacker in 17 gameshis season. He scored four goals and added two assists for 10 points to rank third on the team. The dangerous forward took a team-high 30 shots and notched a brace in a marquee win over fourth-ranked Trinity (Texas) earlier this season.
Summerfield led the Captains in scoring in 2025 with four goals and three assists for 11 total points. He notched three game-winning goals, including winners at Hardin-Simmons, Marymount, and North Carolina Wesleyan. He played in 20 games this season with 10 starts.
On the defensive side of the ball,
Josh Monzon showed flexibility as a starter both on the back line and on the wing. He played in all 21 games with 12 starts and helped the back line post one of the finest defensive seasons in program history. Sullivan played in 20 games wth 13 starts on defense. The Captains defense registered 10 shutouts and posted a 0.76 goals-against average in 21 games, marking the eighth lowest GAA in program history.
Christopher Newport captured the 2025 Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III Men's Championship for the fifth time since 2019. It marked the 15th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and included a victory over Berry College in the opening round of the tournament. CNU closed out the year with a 13-3-5 overall record.
