NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University continues its five-game home stretch Monday night, when the 17th-ranked Captains host the Falcons of Pfeiffer University (N.C.). Game time is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Freeman Center.
John Krikorian's squad looks to bounce back following a 79-62 loss on Thursday at home to UC Santa Cruz. The Banana Slugs knocked down 11 three-pointers and built a 25-point lead in the second half before the Captains were able to scratch back only as close as 13. Freshman
Toa Hollenbeck led the Captains in scoring for the second straight game, scoring 13 points off the bench. The defeat snapped a four-game CNU winning streak.
The Captains are now 16-5 overall and 9-2 at home this year, and will be playing Pfeiffer for the first time ever. Pfeiffer University is located in Misenheimer, N.C. The Falcons, members of the USA South Athletic Conference, are 7-8 on the year, and are coming off a home conference win on Saturday over William Peace University, 96-78.
Tickets for the game will be available at the Freeman Center Ticket Office, which will open one hour before game time on Monday.
