NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University travels to Salisbury, Maryland, Saturday to take on the Sea Gulls of Salisbury University. Game time is set for approximately 4:00 p.m. at the Maggs Center.
The Captains are 20-3 on the season and ranked third in the country.
John Krikorian's squad won its fifth straight game last Saturday, a home victory over UC Santa Cruz, 74-61. Junior big man
Trey Barber came off the bench and registered his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 23 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Barber was named the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Salisbury heads into Saturday's action with a record of 11-12, and the Sea Gulls are coming off a 64-53 home loss Wednesday night to the Eagles of the University of Mary Washington. The Gulls have dropped five of their last six games.
CNU and Salisbury will be meeting for the 51st time in history Saturday, and the second time this season. The Captains have a 35-15 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to 1980. CNU has won the last 12 games and 15 of the last 16. On January 28th, the Captains recorded an 84-74 victory over SU at the Freeman Center. Junior
Jahn Hines posted a career-high 33 points as well as eight rebounds as the Captains came back from a three-point halftime deficit to win by ten.

Following Saturday's game, the Captains have just one game remaining in the regular season. CNU will host the University of Mary Washington on Wednesday night at the Freeman Center. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., and Senior Night ceremonies will be held prior to tip-off.
