NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport Volleyball plays their final three matches of the regular season this weekend in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Match Details
The Captains open the weekend on Friday at 4:30 p.m. with a match against Mary Washington. On Saturday, CNU faces Centre at 10:00 a.m. and Susquehanna later at 4:00 p.m.
Last Time Out
CNU fell in both of their matches last weekend at Salisbury.
Samantha Dorn led the Captains in kills in both matches on Saturday. She hit nine kills against NYU and seven against Salisbury.
Noelle Starr also led the teams in digs in both matches with 14 in the NYU match and 11 against Salisbury.

Sammy Carroll crossed the 1,000 assist mark for the fourth straight season. She's now assisted on more than 1,000 kills in each of her four seasons with the Captains and has a total of 4770 assists headed into the weekend.
Series History
CNU is 18-28 against Mary Washington after the Eagles beat the Captains on Oct. 20. The Captains have won six of their last ten meetings with Mary Washington. Centre won the only ever meeting with Christopher Newport back in 2003. CNU is 4-1 against Susquehanna in their program history after last season's matchup went the way of Susquehanna in five sets.
Scouting the Eagles
Mary Washington lost just their third match of the season last weekend in a neutral site clash with Emory. The Eagles are 22-3 headed into the week and are slated for the top seed in the Coast-to-Coast Conference Tournament next weekend. They've done this by holding opponents to just a 0.099 hitting percentage this season. Mary Washington and Christopher Newport were both listed among the seven teams in the NCAA Region VI rankings last week.
Scouting the Colonels
Centre is 18-7 this season with wins in each of their last five matches. The Colonels were also ranked in the Region VI rankings along with CNU and Mary Washington. Syd Bietz is their leading attacker with an average of 3.44 kills per set.
Scouting the River Hawks
Susquehanna is 9-17 this season but won both matches last weekend. The River Hawks are 2-6 in neutral site matches this year and a total of 5-13 away from home. Their most recent win sealed their spot in the Landmark conference tournament next weekend.
