GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- Looking for the team's tenth straight victory, the top-ranked Christopher Newport women's soccer team hits the road Saturday for the program's first ever trip to Gettysburg College. The Captains (9-0-1) take on the Bullets (4-5-1) at Clark Field in Pennsylvania at 3:00 p.m.
The Captains are seeking the program's seventh 10-game winning streak and already the third in the short tenure of head coach
Jamie Gunderson. CNU has already established a program record and leads the NCAA with the longest active road winning streak at 13 games, and would pick up number 14 with a win against Gettysburg on Saturday.Â
The Bullets counter as winners in two of their last three games, scoring four goals combined in victories against Lebanon Valley and Bryn Mawr. It will be the third all-time matchup between the two teams, and the first since 2006. CNU earned a 3-1 win in 2003 and Gettysburg answered with a 2-1 win in 2006 -- both games were played on a neutral field and this is the first trip for CNU to Gettysburg College.Â
For fans unable to attend in person, live stats and a live video webcast will be available online. Links to both can be found on the women's soccer schedule at CNUsports.com.Â
Christopher Newport is coming off a thrilling 1-0 victory on the road at Lynchburg on Tuesday evening, as CNU scored the gamewinner in the final 15 minutes of the game for the fifth time this season.

Emily Talotta, who became just the third player in program history with 25 career assists.Â
Defensively, the Captains have been one of the most dominant teams in the country, posting a 0.455 goals-against average through Tuesday night's game. CNU ranks 23rd in the nation in while also registering seven shutouts in 11 games for a .636 shutout percentage, ranking 35th nationally. Sophomore
Jaya Daniel has started nine straight games and is the first player in program history to win her first ten starts (adding one from her rookie campaign last season).
Gettysburg has scored ten goals in their first ten games, with three different players logging two goals so far. Ashley Carbonier leads the way with two gamewinners while coming off the bench while Jalia Musah and Grace Slevin have each added a pair.Â
Following the Saturday afternoon affair, the Captains will head to Salisbury University for a 4:00 pm kickoff against the Sea Gulls on Wednesday, October 12.Â
