Christopher Newport won their sixth and seventh straight matches on the final day of the regular season, both in three sets, to propel the Captains into the postseason.
Christopher Newport 3, York (Pa.) 0 | (25-15, 25-13, 25-10)
First Set
Sammy Carroll served three aces as part of a six point run that allowed CNU to take the lead. Two kills from
Alyssa Dozier helped the Captains take five straight points to come together for an 11–1 run for Christopher Newport. Carroll later added a kill that also started a five point swing that included two aces from
Anna Dean to close out the first set.
Second Set
York won the set's first point, but CNU controlled the set from that point on. The Captains took 17 of the next 21 points before York could hold their serve again. Leading 21-12,
Maddie Carter's kill was followed by another ace from Dean. Two errors from the Spartans clinched the second set for Christopher Newport.
Third Set
CNU took the first two points and led wire-to-wire in a third set where York could only muster 10 points.
Mackenzie Wright contributed four kills and a block in the third set as the Captains hit .588 to dominate the Spartans on their way to a three-set victory.

First Set
Averett led 11-8 early in the match, but the Captains completely turned the set around with nine straight points, with two kills from
Kyla McIntyre and
Mackenzie Wright along with two aces from
Julia Gleason. Kills from McIntyre,
Maddie Carter, and
Alyssa Dozier put the Captains up 23-16, and two errant serves from Averett gave CNU the first set.
Second Set
The Captains hit .433 in the second set, their best hitting percentage of the match, and totaled 16 kills.
Alyssa Dozier totaled six kills in this set, including two of the final three kills. With CNU up 22-18, Dozier hit back-to-back kills to force set point.
Kyla McIntyre drove in the final kill to claim the set for the Captains.
Third Set
Averett got within two points late in the third set and trailed Christopher Newport 16-18. But CNU didn't allow the Cougars another point, scoring seven straight to win the third set. Kills from Carter, Wright, and McIntyre and a service ace from Dean helped CNU close out Averett for the second sweep of the day.
