SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - Christopher Newport University travels to Santa Cruz, California, for two games this weekend, as the ninth-ranked Captains look to add to their 12-game winning streak.
John Krikorian's squad plays at the University of California-Santa Cruz Friday and Saturday night. Both games at the Kaiser-Permanente Arena will tip off at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time.
The trip to the Golden State is the first ever in the 54-year history of CNU men's basketball. The Captains last traveled to the far west in December of 2008, playing three games in the Cactus Jam Holiday Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. Â

The Captains raised their record to 15-2 on Monday with an 88-52 Freeman Center victory over the College of New Jersey. Fifth-year senior

Cal-Santa Cruz, a fellow member of the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference, is 2-13 on the year and the Banana Slugs have lost nine straight games. Most recently, the Slugs lost on the road Tuesday night, dropping a 93-45 decision at Division II San Francisco State.
