NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport University moved up one spot this week in the national poll from D3hoops.com. The Captains, who have won 11 straight games, are ranked ninth this week after being tenth in last week's ranking.

John Krikorian announced on Tuesday the Captains have added a game to the schedule. CNU will host the College of New Jersey on Monday afternoon at the Freeman Center. The game will begin at 3:00 p.m. Christopher Newport has had two recent games canceled by CoVID protocol, and will be playing TCNJ, from Ewing, N.J., for the first time ever.
The Captains are 14-2 on the year and coming off a 91-66 win at Marymount last Saturday. The Lions of TCNJ, members of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, are 5-4 on the year, and haven't played since December 11th when they were beaten by New Jersey City, 81-72.
Monday's game will be on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and admission will be free with open seating in the Freeman Center. Fans are asked to wear a mask at all times while in the Freeman Center. The Captains are 10-0 playing at home so far this season.
