NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport will play only one game in Washington in the DC Showcase due to CoVID concerns. The Captains will take on the Generals of Washington and Lee on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Catholic University's DuFour Athletic Center. The host school, however, has had to postpone its games in the tourney due to positive tests. Tuesday's scheduled CNU game vs. Catholic has been postponed.
John Krikorian's squad is riding a six-game winning streak heading into what will now be the final game before Christmas break. The Captains are coming off an 80-72 win over Virginia Wesleyan University on Friday night at the Freeman Center. Senior
Matt Brodie led the way with 17 points and was one of five Captains to reach double figures. Christopher Newport, now 9-2 on the year, was ranked 12th in the country in last week's national poll from D3hoops.com.

CNU holds a 3-2 lead in the series, and has won the last three meetings. The squads last met on November 17, 2015, at the Freeman Center, and the Captains recorded a 70-52 victory.
Fifth-year senior
Jason Aigner needs just one point to pass Carlos Heard and take over 19th place on the CNU all-time scoring list. Aigner registered 11 points on Friday and has now scored 1,241 career points in 102 games as a Captain.
