NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - One day after helping lead his team to victory over the top-ranked team in the country, Christopher Newport University sophomore Jahn Hines was selected the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday. 

Hines averaged 14 points and nine rebounds per game in two victories in a weekend tournament at the Freeman Center, including an overtime thriller over top-ranked and undefeated Randolph-Macon on Sunday. His nine points vs. R-MC all came during a furious second-half comeback, that also saw him pull down eight of his 11 rebounds.

Saturday, Hines led CNU to a 36-point win over Alvernia by topping the squad with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. 

It's the second time this season the Captains have received the accolade, as sophomore Trey Barber was honored two weeks ago. Christopher Newport is now 5-2 on the season, and the Captains return to action on Saturday hosting Averett University. Game time at the Freeman Center is set for 4:00 p.m.
