NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The penultimate game of the 2021 regular season for Christopher Newport women's soccer will be played on Wednesday night as the fourth-ranked Captains (13-0-0) host Mary Washington as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Kickoff is tentatively scheduled for 7:30 p.m. from Captains Field after the CNU men's program takes on Salisbury at 5:00 p.m.
The game will be the last against Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference competition before the conference tournament at Salisbury next week. CNU will close the regular season on Saturday against Lynchburg at 5:00 pm. Christopher Newport held it's position at No. 4 in the nation this week and will look to extend their season-opening win streak after starting the year 13-0-0. Mary Washington comes into the match with a 4-7-1 overall record.Â
The two teams matched up less than two weeks ago when the Captains traveled to Fredericksburg and handed the Eagles a 3-0 defeat.

Riley Cook and
Ryanne Davidson each tacked on second half goals to lead the offense in the shutout victory.Â
Cook was named the C2C Offensive Player of the Week after scoring seven points in two games last week. The senior has registered at least one goal in six straight games including the first matchup against the Eagles. Behind Cook's team-leading 29 points,
Sarah Smith has added 15 points on six goals and three assists while sophomore
Emma Ricci has 12 points with three goals and six assists.
Emily Talotta has added six helpers as well and is one of five Captains in double figures with 10 points.Â
Mary Washington has struggled offensively this season with just eight goals in 12 games this season. Junior Mikaela O'Fallon has scored twice to lead the way while senior Abby Zimmerman has one goal and two assists to tie for the team lead with four points scored.Â
