The Christopher Newport women have already wrapped up the CAC regular-season title and top seed in the upcoming post-season tournament. Bill Broderick's squad is 19-4 overall and 8-0 in conference action, and the Captains are riding an 11-game winning streak. Christopher Newport is coming off an 89-49 home victory Wednesday night over St. Mary's. Salisbury, meanwhile, comes into Saturday's action with a 10-13 mark overall and a 3-5 record in the CAC.

The Christopher Newport women are currently seventh in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 80 points per game. The Captains are also fourth in the country in steals, and are forcing 30 turnovers per game, which is third in the nation. The Captains are 7-0 at home this year and have won 18 consecutive games at the Freeman Center dating back to December of 2018.

The women's squads matched up on January 25th in Salisbury, Md., and the Captains recorded a 75-68 triumph. The Captains now hold a 23-12 advantage in the women's all-time series with the Sea Gulls.

The Christopher Newport men's squad had an 11-game winning streak snapped last Saturday in double overtime at York, 101-97, and the Captains look to bounce back Saturday against the Gulls. John Krikorian's team is now 18-5 overall and 7-1 in the CAC, tied atop the conference standings with York heading into the final two games of the regular season.

The Captains are 10-1 at home this season, and junior Jason Aigner needs just 14 points to reach 1,000 for his career. Aigner is looking to become the 33rd men's player to reach the 1,000-point plateau in the 53-year history of the program.

When the Captains and Sea Gulls met on January 25th in Salisbury, Christopher Newport held on for a 72-64 win. The Captains have won the last eight games with the Gulls, and 11 of the last 12. Salisbury's men's squad enters play on Saturday with an overall mark of 10-13, and the Sea Gulls are 4-4 in the CAC.

The women's Senior Day pre-game ceremony will honor and recognize Kiana Kirkland, the lone senior on the roster, as well as senior manager Rachel Gray. The men will honor a six-man senior class: Dalon McHugh II, Nick Parks, Cutch Ellis, Luther Gibbs, Brock Geiman, and Savonte Chappell.

Saturday's women's game will be the final home regular-season game for the Captains, who will finish on the road next Wednesday at Southern Virginia. The men will be home again on Wednesday night, hosting Southern Virginia at 7:00 p.m. at the Freeman Center.

Both games Saturday will be streamed live on CNUsports.com/watch with live stats also available. The men's game will also be broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning at approximately 3:40 p.m.
