NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Scheduled to play North Carolina Wesleyan College at Captains Field on Wednesday night, the Christopher Newport men's soccer team will postpone the match against the Battling Bishops due to the potential impact of Hurricane Dorian. N.C. Wesleyan is closing at 3:00 pm on Wednesday in anticipation of the storm, forcing the cancellation. 

Both coaching staffs are working on a potential makeup date for the contest later in the season. Details will be announced as they are made available. 

Christopher Newport opened the season with a pair of home victories this weekend in the first annual Steve Shaw Classic, defeating Greensboro College, 4-0, and Whitman College, 3-1. The Captains (2-0-0) will next take the field on the road this Saturday, September 7 at Gettysburg College. Kickoff is slated for 4:00 pm.
