During the contest, CNU vaulted out to a fast 9-0 lead midway through the first half before easing into the lopsided victory. Overall, 12 different players recorded a point during the game, while six Captains notched multi-goal efforts.

Shenandoah comes into the weekend on a two-game roll, including a 9-8 victory over McDaniel on Wednesday. Overcoming a four-goal deficit early in the second half, the Hornets scored six of the game's final seven goals to pull out the win. Alexandra Simonson scored twice during the comeback, including the go-ahead tally with less than three minutes remaining in regulation.

Overall, Kaitlyn Morris leads Shenandoah with nine points this season, while Alyson Bittinger has seven goals. On the defensive side, Emma Hardisky has forced 13 turnovers this year, which ranks fourth in the country. Gionna Maria has also compiled a .456 save percentage and a 10.35 goals-against-average during her time between the pipes.

In 20 previous meetings between the two programs, Christopher Newport holds an 18-2 edge in the series. The Captains have won the last 13 battles dating back to 2006, including a 15-10 triumph on the road last year. During that contest, Culver erupted for five goals, while Ready plucked 11 saves. Bittinger contributed three points for SU.

Following this weekend's tilt, CNU will return to action on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with a neutral-site game against Roanoke in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
