John Krikorian's squad is 7-4 so far this season, and will take on Bethany College (W. Va.) Saturday at 4:00 p.m. Christopher Newport dropped its final two games before the Christmas break, and will return to C.J. Woollum Court at the Freeman Center following a 12-day hiatus. The Captains last saw action on Sunday, December 15th, when they dropped a 74-64 verdict at Virginia Wesleyan.

Bethany College is 0-9 so far this year, and the Bison have also not played since December 15th, falling in a 108-41 decision at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. It will be just the second meeting ever of the Captains and Bison. Christopher Newport defeated Bethany, 101-68, on January 11, 1999, at Ratcliffe Gymnasium in the only matchup of the schools. The Captains have won 16 of the previous 22 shootouts.

Christopher Newport has been led this season by junior Jason Aigner, who is averaging 12.5 points per game. Senior Dalon McHugh II is averaging 9.2 points and a team-high 6.4 rebounds per contest. The Captains are 5-1 at home this season after going 18-0 at home last year.

Wesley (4-6) and Emory & Henry (3-6) will open the two-day tourney at the Freeman Center on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. On Sunday, Saturday's losing teams will meet in the third-place game starting at 2:00 p.m. followed by the championship at 4:00 p.m.

All four games of the tournament will be streamed live on CNUsports.com/watch with live stats also available. Captains games are also broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning 20 minutes prior to tipoff.
