For those fans unable to attend Saturday's game, live stats and a video stream of the action will be available at CNUsports.com. Direct links to both features can be found at the top of this release and on the CNU schedule page.

After dropping their season opener, the Captains have responded with a pair of resounding victories, including a 15-10 triumph at Shenandoah on Tuesday. During that contest, the squad scored the first four goals and never looked back. Sarah Culver eventually finished with a game-high five goals, while Colleen Bourgal added four tallies. Meanwhile, on the defensive side, Kaitlyn Ready made 11 saves to earn the victory, and Tess D'Arcy caused a pair of turnovers to go along with four ground balls.

So far this season, Culver leads the team with 11 goals, while Bourgal has nine strikes and two assists. Carly Wilson has helped pace the potent attack with seven assists as well. Along with the offensive standouts, Catherine Leighty leads CNU with four caused turnovers, Catie Chess has 13 draw controls, and Ready boasts a .521 save percentage.

Catholic enters the weekend after upending No. 21 St. Mary's (Md.), 16-10, on Wednesday. During that victory, Nicolette Crisalli lit up the Seahawks with nine points, including seven goals. Morgan Ellis also added a hat-trick, while Emily Bynoe helped dominate possession with eight draw controls.

Overall this season, Crisalli already boasts 14 points and 12 goals in just two appearances. Holly Regan also has seven points. In the crease, Nanci Hernandez has started both games and sports a .500 save percentage and 12.00 goals-against-average.  Kayla Purdy has also helped out on the defensive end with a team-high three caused turnovers.

Saturday's game will mark the 11th all-time meeting between Catholic and CNU. The Cardinals currently lead the all-time series, 9-1, including a 19-10 win during a neutral-site battle last year. However, CNU did win the last meeting in Newport News after notching a 9-8 triumph in 2016. Culver scored four goals in that contest, while Chess contributed a pair.

Following this weekend's action, Christopher Newport will return to the road for a 3:00 p.m. showdown at No. 8 Washington & Lee on March 7.
