DOVER, Del. -- Riding a six-game winning streak, the 10th-ranked Christopher Newport field hockey team will continue Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Captains head to Wesley for a league showdown at Drass Field.
Coming off back-to-back wins over nationally-ranked opponents, CNU sits at 10-1 overall, including 2-0 in league tilts. The Captains are also a perfect 6-0 away from Newport News. Meanwhile, Wesley is 3-9 with an 0-1 record in conference action.

The Captains opened league play with a 1-0 victory over No. 3 Salisbury last Saturday before upending No. 19 Mary Washington, 3-2, on Wednesday.

Courtney Fiest capped off a second-half rally to sink the Eagles in the midweek clash.
Entering the weekend, Christopher Newport currently ranks second in the nation with a 0.55 goals-against-average and fourth with an .870 save percentage. On an individual level, McKinney is sixth in the country with a 0.63 goals-against-average, while
Brittan Muir has contributed a pair of defensive saves. Both standouts have already been honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week for their work this season.
Offensively,
Rachael Allshouse has a team-high 15 points, which ranks fourth in the league.
Madison Doss and
Courtney Fiest also have 14 points apiece. Doss ranks second on the squad with six strikes, while Fiest leads the conference with eight assists.
On the other side of the field, Wesley snapped a three-game skid on Wednesday with a 2-1 triumph at Eastern. The Wolverines have frustrated opposing attacks with 13 defensive saves this season. That total ranks seventh in the NCAA, while Emily Wagner's seven stops place her third on the individual list. Leading the attack, Kaila Hindt has a team-leading 10 points, including four assists, and Morgan Gannon has nine points and three strikes.
In the all-time series, Christopher Newport leads Wesley, 9-1. Last year, the Captains posted a 4-0 victory in Newport News.
Rachel Cooke led the squad with three points, while Doss added a pair of assists during the win. The defense also shined, holding the Wolverines without a single shot.
