NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Due to the threat of worsening weather and playing conditions, the CNU women's soccer game scheduled for Saturday evening against The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) has been cancelled. The Captains (1-0-0) were expected to play the Lions (1-0-0) in the Atlantic Orthopaedics Soccer Tournament, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan, at 8:00 pm, but the impact of Tropical Storm Hermine has forced the game's cancellation. 

Head coach Dan Weiler and the Christopher Newport Captains will have to settle for just one game in their opening weekend after capturing a 7-0 victory over Austin College on Friday night. 

Game two will now be on September 6, as CNU travels to Methodist University for a 5:00 pm kickoff in non-conference action. The home opener is still slated for next weekend, as the Captains will host the 2016 Captains Classic on September 9-10.
