NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Christopher Newport men's basketball returns to action Sunday afternoon when the Captains travel to Carlisle, PA., to take on the Red Devils of Dickinson College. Tipoff time is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. for the non-conference battle.

CNU is 2-1 on the year and coming off a split last weekend in the Hoopsville Classic in Owings Mills, MD. The Captains, ranked second in the nation in the pre-season poll from D3hoops.com, defeated Wisconsin-Stevens Point, 71-51, before losing to 17th-ranked Marietta, 74-50.

Dickinson is off to a 3-0 start and the Red Devils are fresh off a 75-65 victory on Tuesday night over Muhlenberg.

The game Sunday will be just the second meeting of the schools. CNU and Dickinson played in a holiday tournament in Pennsylvania in December of 1991, and the Red Devils beat the Captains, 77-69.

Following Sunday's game, John Krikorian's squad returns home for its next three games, including two next week. CNU opens play in the Capital Athletic Conference on Wednesday night at the Freeman Center against Southern Virginia and then hosts York next Saturday afternoon.

Sunday's action at Dickinson, and all CNU games, will be broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning at 3:40 p.m. The action will also be streamed live on CNUsports.com/live.
