MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- The grueling portion of the Capital Athletic Conference schedule continues on Saturday for Christopher Newport, as the Captains travel to Penn State Harrisburg (11-5-0, 5-2-0) for a 2:00 pm kickoff against the Lions. CNU men's soccer is unbeaten in eight straight games, running their overall record to 12-2-1 with a 6-0-1 mark in conference play, but the Lions are still battling for one of the coveted top two spots in the league standings, which come with a first-round bye.
Live stats will be available at approximately 2:00 pm, as the game will be played as the back end of a doubleheader with the women's teams. It is Senior Day for the Lions, playing in their last home game of the regular seaosn.
Christopher Newport has already clinched a spot in the 2016 CAC Tournament, but will be hoping to lock up a first-round bye and continues to battle for the program's first regular season conference title as members of the CAC. CNU leads Mary Washington in the league standings by one point and the Eagles will host Wesley College on Saturday, followed by a home game against the Lions to wrap up the regular season. CNU will wrap up their regular season against Marymount at home on Wednesday, October 26.
CNU has only trailed in three games this season, and has expertly commanded the first half, outscoring opponents by a 28-4 total in the opening stanza. The defense has been a huge part of that, allowing only 24 shots on-goal (1.6 per game) in the first half this season. Senior

Sammy Blosser have been the leaders on the outside. Seifert has been on the field for all but seven minutes of action this season, helping contribute to a 1.05 goals against average and six total shutouts.
The Captains will look to continue a dominating offensive streak, scoring multiple goals in eight straight games and 15 of 16 total games this season. CNU boasts the two leading scorers in the league, as senior
Jimmy Grace and sophomore
Stephen Durbin have put together sensational seasons to this point. Grace has a slight one-point edge in the points category, while Durbin has one more goal scored with a league-leading ten. The dangerous attack put two goals on the league's best defense on Wednesday, scooting past Salisbury, 2-1, while on the road.
Facing the Lions on Saturday, CNU will contend with another tough defense as Penn State Harrisburg ranks second in the league with a 0.92 goals-against average. They also feature the league's second ranked offense behind the Captains, scoring 95 points on 33 goals so far this year. Senior Jonathan Majin ranks third behind Grace and Durbin on the league scoring chart, leading the Lions with 20 points this season. He has seven goals and six assists while junior Victor Weaver has also been a dangerous option up top, scoring four goals with seven assists for 15 points.
In goal, senior Brandon Hoover has played all but one half this season, pitching five shutouts and owning a 0.95 goals-against average for the Lions. He has made 49 saves with a .766 save percentage.
