CNU and Salisbury played in the regular season finale, where the Sea Gulls captured a pivotal 5-4 win to earn the right to host on Tuesday. The Captains, ranked 37th in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Poll, are ranked No. 10 in the Atlantic South, while Salisbury checks in at No. 9.

The re-match comes just five days after CNU fell on the very same courts on which they will play on Tuesday. The conference match came down to the final individual matchup in singles play, where Salisbury rookie Sean Ngo captured the match-clinching three-set win over CNU sophomore Arttu Fiva. The teams split the six singles matches, while the home Sea Gulls won two out of three doubles battles.

This season, CNU freshman Justin Cerny has led the team in singles victories, with a 15-6 overall mark in duals. He is one of three Captains to earn a win over a regionally-ranked opponent this season, as fellow freshman David Reed and sophomore Steven Boslet have also picked up big individual wins. In doubles play, Cerny and Reed are regionally-ranked with a 9-11 record at No. 1 doubles, while Boslet and junior Chiraag Shetty have combined for a 12-6 record.

Salisbury features two regionally-ranked singles players in Daniel Albers (#22) and Eric Spangler (#25), while the two play together as one of the top tandems in the nation, ranked 6th in the Atlantic South. The upperclass pairing has lost just two matches over the last two seasons, including a 16-1 mark this season.

The winning team will advance to play the winner of No. 1 Mary Washington and No.  5 York (Pa.) matchup, also being played at 3:00 pm on Tuesday. The CAC Championship will be held on Saturday, April 25.
