NEWPORT NEWS, Va.- The Christopher Newport men's basketball squad, fresh off a season-opening victory over Lynchburg on Sunday, hosts the Generals of Washington & Lee Tuesday night. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Freeman Center.

The Captains downed the Hornets on Sunday thanks to a stingy defense that held Lynchburg to just 29 percent shooting for the game. CNU also opened the year with a balanced attack that saw six players score eight or more points. Junior Tim Daly led the way, coming off the bench to score 13 points and pull down seven rebounds.

Washington & Lee is 1-0 as well after opening the new season on Sunday with a home triumph over Berry College, 89-86. The Generals were 11-16 last year and are picked to finish sixth in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference's pre-season poll.

It will be just the fifth meeting all-time of the squads, and the series is even at 2-2. Last season, the Captains beat W&L in Lexington, 64-53. Tim Daly was the CNU leader in that game as well, scoring 22 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.

Tuesday's tilt will be broadcast live on the Christopher Newport/Pepsi Radio Network (Xtra 99.1 FM) with the pre-game show beginning at 7:10 p.m. The live video broadcast will be available at CNUsports.com/live.
