WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Riding a 10-match winning streak, the fourth-ranked Christopher Newport volleyball team will travel to Gallaudet for a non-conference battle at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the GU Field House.
The Captains enter the match with a 22-2 record, including a 9-1 mark away from Newport News. On the other side, Gallaudet sports a 17-8 record with a 3-4 ledger in home matches.

A LOOK AT THE CAPTAINS Christopher Newport enters the mid-week contest on a 10-match roll, including a pair of road victories against Penn State Harrisburg and St. Mary's over the weekend. So far this season, the Captains have been paced by an efficient offensive attack, which boasts a .257 hitting percentage. That currently leads the CAC and ranks in the top-10 nationally.
Leading the front line,
Briana Sutton is averaging 4.13 kills-per-set while hitting at a .299 clip.
Hannah Miller has been equally effective, boasting a team-best .316 hitting percentage to go along with 218 kills.
Rachel Conway also holds a league-best 10.84 assists-per-set average, while
Rachel Close ranks among the conference leaders with 316 digs.
Ashley Rock has been especially impressive on the defensive end as well with 72 rejections.
LAST TIME OUT On Sunday, CNU took down St. Mary's in a hotly-contested five-set battle in Maryland. Conway helped lead the way with 54 assists to go along with four blocks and three aces. Sutton also pumped 19 kills against the Seahawks, and Rock registered six blocks.
SCOUTING THE BISON Gallaudet comes into Tuesday's battle riding a three-match winning streak, including back-to-back three-set sweeps against Penn College and Penn State Berks. So far this season, the Bison have been led by Darriyan Thomas, who has a 3.37 kills-per-set average. Molly Perkins is also averaging 2.55 kills-per-frame, while TraciAnn Hoglind sits in the top-20 nationally with 891 assists. She has also peppered a team-high 40 aces.
SERIES HISTORY Gallaudet and CNU have met 11 times with the Bison holding a 6-5 edge in the series. Last year, the two squads squared off in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with the Captains notching a 3-0 victory at the Freeman Center.
UP NEXT Following Tuesday's match, CNU will return home for a 7 p.m. contest against Johns Hopkins on Friday.
