Live StatsWASHINGTON, D.C. -- The 15th-ranked Christopher Newport field hockey team will continue its road swing on Wednesday evening when the Captains take on No. 14 Catholic in a top-20 showdown at Cardinal Stadium at 6 p.m.
CNU enters the game with a 6-2 record, while Catholic is 6-1. Long-time rivals, the Captains hold a 7-4 lead in the all-time series. Last season, Christopher Newport posted a pair of victories over CUA, including a 1-0 triumph over the Cardinals in the Elite Eight at Captains Turf Field.

In their last outing, the Captains recorded a 6-0 victory over Ferrum on Friday.
Belle Tunstall led the way with six points after contributing two goals and a pair of assists. Fellow senior
Allie Hackbarth also opened the scoring for CNU in the first half against the Panthers, while
Carol Thompson,
Samantha Snider, and
Madison Doss added strikes after halftime.
So far this season, Tunstall has been the team's top offensive threat with 16 points, including six assists. She has already broken the program's career records for points and assists this season and stands just two goals shy of matching that mark as well.
Taylor Williams has also added four goals for CNU, while Thompson has scored twice and chipped in with three helpers.
On the defensive end, Christopher Newport has limited the opposition to just 1.45 goals-per-game. The squad has also blanked four opponents.
Savanah Cummings leads the squad with a .933 save percentage in 153 minutes of work, while
Bailey Lien has a .765 mark in 385 minutes of action.
Sarah Miller and
Alexa Hendrickson have chimed in with two defensive saves apiece as well.
Catholic has been led by Maura Campbell and Tarah Portland, who both have 10 points on the season. Colleen Harwood also has nine points and a team-high five assists. On the defensive end, Analisa Scott has an .816 save percentage and a 1.47 goals-against-game average. She has also helped the Cardinals post a pair of shutouts, including a 2-0 blanking of Gettysburg on September 9.
Christopher Newport will return to action on Saturday at 11 a.m. when the squad opens up Capital Athletic Conference play at York (Pa.).
