NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The Christopher Newport men's lacrosse team will welcome No. 2 Salisbury to town for a Capital Athletic Conference match-up on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Captains Turf Field.

CNU enters the game with a 7-2 record, including a 1-1 mark in league action. Salisbury sits atop the conference standings with a pristine 10-0 overall record and a 3-0 showing in CAC play.

Although the two programs have never faced each other, they both competed in last year's NCAA Tournament. During the 2013 campaign, the Captains made their first national appearance, while the Sea Gulls advanced to the Final Four.

For those fans unable to make it out to Wednesday's contest, live stats and a video stream of the action will be available at CNUsports.com. Direct links to both features can be found at the top of this release and on the men's lacrosse schedule page.

Wednesday's game will also serve as Christopher Newport's "Scoop for Loot" game, which is a fundraising campaign designed to raise donations and pledges for the "Lacrosse the Nations" humanitarian organization.
