SALISBURY, MD- Christopher Newport fell behind early Wednesday night, 17-2, and lost at Salisbury by a final score of 83-58. The Captains are now 14-6 overall and 6-5 in the Capital Athletic Conference.

"They out-played us in every way tonight," Head Coach John Krikorian said. "We struggled offensively and defensively and Salisbury was terrific. We have a lot of work to do to get to where we need to be."

Following the sluggish start, the Captains bounced back and cut the lead to seven at the half, 33-26. CNU then cut the margin to just three points, 38-35, with just over 15 minutes to play. From there, it was all Salisbury.

The Sea Gulls went on a 20-3 run to open a 58-38 advantage, and ended up out-scoring the Captains in the second half, 50-32. Salisbury made nine of 21 from beyond the three-point line, while the Captains were just three of 19 for the night.

CNU was led by freshman center Tim Daly, who scored 16 points and pulled down six rebounds. Salisbury was led by 20 points from Tim Harwood, which included four three-pointers.

Salisbury improved to 10-10 with the triumph and the Sea Gulls are now 5-6 in conference play.

The game was the third of four in an eight-day span for Christopher Newport.

The Captains return to action on Saturday with a 3 p.m. game at Wesley College in Dover, Delaware.
